Christmas Carols

There’s something about the radio stations that normally play music I like (ex. 80s) playing Christmas Carols really really gets on my nerves. I’ll turn on the radio expecting Journey and instead I get a butchered version of Silent Night! Even if it’s not a bad version of the song it’s still not what I thought I was getting into. It’s like with food. It’s like Fritos are good, but if you’re expecting fine cuisine it is just frustrating.

And now for the bomb-shell. I don’t really like most Christmas Carols. *gasp* They have weird lyrics and disturbingly long held notes. It’s just not pleasing to the ears. I’m not saying all are bad. Just the vast majority of them.
98.5 I give you clearance you do it every year, but everyone else: PLAY THE STUFF I WANT…

Books

No matter how much I’ve been trying to persuade myself that I’m not, I just have to accept the fact that I’m spending my college fund on books. The first minute I scrounge up just enough money to buy a book I’m already scouring amazon or trying to convince my mother to drive me to one of the few remaining book stores in town. It isn’t like I’m deluding myself or anything. I know I’m doing it and I just can’t stop. I’ll walk into the book store and that’ll be the end of that. I’m leaving with a book if it kills me. One does not simply leave the bookstore without a fresh book in hand.

Books are like a drug to me. The old book smell, oh yeah. You can seriously get high off that stuff. I’m sure if you waited long enough you would see me walking furtively over to my bookshelf, pulling one out, flipping through its pages, and inhaling like there is no tomorrow.

It worries me that once I’m out of the house, can drive, and have a steady income I’ll still be living out a pathetically meager existence because I’ll be spending all my dough on the precious pulp. And what’s more you won’t be able to move around in my house! I’ll have my own A&E special: Confessions of a Book Hoarder. Ohh… I can see it know…

I need to spend more time at the library.

Disease and Holiday Cheer

So for about 4 days I've been sick with something that is causing my tonsils to swell to unimaginable sizes and my nose to just stop functioning. Sooo... I've been doing a whole lot of nothing. Mostly I've been lying around going on Youtube and Memebase, watching cheesy romantic comedies, hacking/ nose-blowing, and staring at myself in the mirror wondering how come my hair only looks that good when I'm about to take a shower or not going to see anyone for days. So far it hasn't been enjoyable.

My Girl Scout buddies came over yesterday and I was so desperate for company I was hopping up and down even in my state of disease. And because I love them dearly I had to print out pictures of skulls and crossbones and label everything I came into contact with.

So right now I'm living for those moments when I haven't already heard that hilarious Stephen Wright quote on Youtube and the anticipation of many presents in my near future.

It's been a while...

The title says it all. It's certainly been a while. In fact a year and 6 days so I've decided to write a blog entry filling in as many of the wholes as possible in a brief and concise manor! :)

School~
I'm actually in 8th Grade now! It's going okay, I got Mr. Sell again (YES!)and I have probe math AHHH!!! All of my teachers are really fabulous this year. Unlike last year with a certain demon math teacher! It was a great academic year for me, though. I'm going to miss my Language Arts teacher tons. I didn't like her in 6th Grade, but I really grew to love her in 7th.

Summer~
We went to Utah and Colorado mainly. In Utah we made really awesome glass flowers, met LOADS of family, and had an all around fantastic time along with great tidings of Hostess Snowballs! <3
In Colorado we went to Mesa Verde a stop we did the last time we were there, but wasn't really explored to the extent it was this time around. We got to see some really fascination cliff dwellings left behind and learn a lot about the native people.

Later we stayed at some of my Dad's friend's house. It was great and they took us Horse-back (cleaning, grooming, leading) riding and Aaron and I got to hold a baby horse. Literally, we got to hold it in our arms!
Friends~ Last year I made a bunch of new friends: Samantha, Savannah, Taylor, and more! It was an awesome year for me! :D Still besties with Lydia, Sabrina, and Julia of course. And keeping in touch with Taia, Meghann, and Brenna.

Okay, so recently in many of the "popular" books I've been reading( Hunger Games, Maximum Ride, etc) They've had two of the main characters fall in love. Of course since I really did not like these books they had no character development and they're first kisses were in a cave. I don;t know why, but it is really annoying me because they shouldn't be in love! well, they can have a crush on each other, but really kissing in a cave. It's a bit serious don't you think? rawr. NEVER believe the hype kiddies.

--------Book Reviews------

The Hunger Games: There are many things that turn be into a giant squid of anger this book would be one of them. I only found one character deep. There was no real suprises. The main characters made me made and the only sweet character got speared. Hm... 2 stars?

The 13th Reality: The Journal of Curious Letters: So creative and fun! You might want to keep a journal to find out the riddles along with Tick! Each character was deep and funny. I found the blend of fantasy and science fiction totally enjoyable. A great read. 4 1/2 stars plus there wasn't a single cave kissing scene in the entire 508 pages! Whootus Whootus!

-------7th Grade------

it's definitely going to be more challenging than any other grade mostly because the amount of homework. And NO time after school to breath much less get anything done. I'm liking most of my teachers even My language arts teacher. The only real exception to this rule is My Math teacher who calls on you for doing nothing. if you look away from her for a second she will yell at you for not paying attention. If you cough she glares at you! A significant change from my 6th Grade Math teacher who was the most amazing math teacher the world has ever known! Long Live Mrs. Chen!

Stardust The Movie:
The movie was better the book. I would probably give it a four and a half star rating. With extra points for the discreteness of "those" scenes. *wink* Overall the plot is very original and the humor is better than most fairytale love stories too.

Stardust the book Neil Gaimen:

I give the book three stars as in I liked it, but was probably less clever than the movie. *le-gasp* ANd points off for the language and not discrete enough "scenes". Must I say.. Say no more.

Horesradish by the Infamous Lemony Snicket:

It is just really a collection of quotes that "Lemony Snicket" has made up, but they are absolutley brilliant! I make fun of my mother for ripping up pieces of paper and sticking it in to bookmark pages, but now I understand. Thank you The Santana/Randolph Family for giving me this splendid book. ***** Five stars! To truly understand the morose genius behind this book you have to read it. WHich is an activity I highly recomend!... No seriously.

I was going to type this once, we had the pictures of our gigantic snowman uploaded, but might as well do this in the heat of the moment eh?? pun pun pun... I just want to clear a few things up about snowman building. Calliou CANNOT build a snowman by himself. He made an enormus snowman by himself??? My dad nearly turned purple lifting up the middle of the snowman. And Calliou's snowman was as big as his father. I don't think so!!! This is good snow!the other snow was wet and hard. This snow is perfect, powdery, soft, and it sticks! Our snowman ended up being taller than, me! It was a fun day. More updates on the fun later!

I don't like them! They stung me! I got stung by a beached Sea Nettle on our trip to gulf shores, Alabama. It hurt. It felt like a bunch of fire ants stinging me repeatitly in my leg. I guess it couldn't help itself.I did kneel on it. I think I got all the barbs, but one out. On the plus side it will look wonderful on my resume!

Harry potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out and I amm going to see it with Granny! Yay! Woo-HOO!
Other than that I spent the week at Grannny Alice's house with Haley, My Mom, Noah, Eve, And Haleys's friend Kaitlin. We went to the farm snape kills dumbeldore and kaKaitlin drovwe the four-wheeler! And I found out that I like decaffenated sweet-tea. Nommers!
Also, I think I may just have found the perfect towel for Doctor Who to use for his hitchhiking travels in the Tardis! Time and relative demention in space! YYou know what I lkove about that name is that it doesn't leave out the ands. They are always left out. Like in U.S.A. It should be U.S.O.A. Right? Oh well. Buh-bye people of Earth and beyond!

Omagosh!!! SOOOOOOOOO cool!! Ok so I have a animal project and we had to choose from a list of animals and even if we knew one fact about them we couldn't do it we had to be completely blank on the animal of our choice. Lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky me I chose the Echidna. It is sort of like a hedgehog and a platypus and an anteater. It is one of the only two monotremes (egg-laying mammals)too cool. Well halfway through my research I find out they lay one egg that hatches after only ten days! Then, I found out what the babies are called... PUGGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uh mmm so cute can you resist?? The answer is NO

I know the title sounds like a cheesy teenage romance novel, but actually it's a chessy pre-teen anti-romance real life thing. I just love those!
Well so I admit it I had a crush on a boy in my math class and he was really cute and had loads of freckles. So for some unknown reaseon at girl scouts we started talking about boys. I told everyone out loud who mine was. Julia burst out in spontanius spazzy laughing attack! At first I was offended then she explained.
Chezzy pre-teen anti-romance real life thing: So aparently in 4th grade he chased a girl around the playground and grabbed her trying to kiss her. He managed to kiss her leg hair before struggling and wiggiling free. Then, she took of. So obviously he was not fully satisfied and chased her more failing to get some more leg hair lovin'. POP! there goes my crush on that guy. I shall never lay eyes upon him once more except in complete scorn.

Since I haven't updated in a while I have a few things to tell you guys! Here goes it: I got accepted for Safety patrol but I am already finished with my time, but I do have a nice story. On my third day of Safety Patrol a cute little 1st grade or Kindergarten boy came up to me and said "You're pretty." I said Thank you and he moved on. A couple days later he comes up to me again and says "You"re just as pretty as when I met you." (Shocked Silence) I don't even know this kid! Well that was cute but super embarrasing. Any how I have an apology to make. I said in my last blog that I had a pushy grandfather. apprently that was not all true. My apoligizes un-pushy grandfather. Hey,

My friend brought over a few really yummy Gingersnaps.(Yes Grampa I know your Jealous...) Also we made a few cookies a few nights ago. I just Have lots a lots stuff to talk about so I am going to squish them together.
I have a new student in my class, My teacher is finally back to school and she loves reading!!( I know it will corupt my mind, Dad.) One of my best friends got a new puppy that goes wacko sometimes. Uhh lets scan the brain. Ahh yes I finished my new book that will be on my reveiws so check that out soon.
My bus has a heater and when the bus driver( Mr.Mario, not the video game character.) turns it on it smells like cotton Candy for a minute, but after a while it starts to smell like burnt rubber. Altoughg it is pretty dang warm in cozy. Bye!!

HALLOWEEN!! yesterday the family and I were carving pumpkins and so Noah as usall was making noise. and suddenly. . . well it wasn't as exciting as all that because Mom didn't actually cut the poor little pumpkins eye off but it was very close. Well luckly the pumpkin is alive and well until we takes out it's guts and it rots after halloween. Oh no I gave it pumpkiny nightmares.

Now despite the claims of my mother, I am 100% Human. Perhaps I am from Neptune,but that's no surprize to anyone especially my mother who just told me how to spell especially. So if the spelling was wrong please confront my mother. Anywho I am snaggletoothmolarless. Here's the whole story: dad was breifing me on the possible pain of the tooth being pulled out, and mom comes in she wants us to pose for the Camera (strange woman) and Dad only had a slight grip on it and it fell out in his hand! weird HUH? I went to six flags yesterday. I was so tired when we got home, as soon as my head hit the pillow I was sound asleep. Iam so tired my feet still hurt from all that walking ,but it was so fun. Eve my 5 year old sister rode on the scream machine. I was afraid of it when I was on it with her. She screamed"LET"S DO IT AGAIN!!!" after every ride and when asked the question "What was your favorite part about coming?" She simply replied "Everything!". She was pretty brave riding all of those roller coaster. Eve didn't even shake when we got off. GO EVE!!

The wonderful Doctor Who's wicked awesome mechanical dog who now belongs to Sarah Jane.I went to google because I hated our old background Witch of course none of us has any say on it.I looked at Doctor Who Images and found a great picture of the Amazing K-9. If you had to ask if i totally love K-9 my answer would have to be: Affirmitive. Ha Ha Ha Go K-9!!!

Back to school. I am going to have a teacher who is a huge fan of tweety bird! I am going to walk into the classroom and say: "I twaat I saw a puddy cat." (Haha) Well I can't wait for school to start. In fifth grade we rule the school. Kindergarteners look up to us. The strange thing is one year your at the biggest grade you rule the school and then the next year you at the lowwest of the low. It's strange how fast these things happen can't wait to go back to school!

My internet has been down for a while so sorry. Really nothing happened interesting. I did cut my hair ten inches off. It's really short I like it . Actully it is not that short but I Still cut off ten inches. Sorry about the long wait to know this. So don't act so surprized if you see me with much shorter hair because I CHOPPED it all right off. That is all I really wanted to say.

In the words of Calvin and Hobbes "The Days are Just Packed". This June has been frantic First Drama Camp then Tennis Camp at Parkveiw high school. Lastly next week I will have Mercer University College for Kids it is a writing camp witch I have been too going to for the Fifth time, but who's counting? *cough me cough* May throat feels better know. I am worn down right to a Rachel Stub and I feel quite exhausted at the moment so in the words of Old Saint Nickolas "-and to all a good night."

Tennis

Tennis is awesome . I am Great at the backhand volley and okay at both ground strokes I have never gotten a ball stuck in a fence but I Know i am inproving. Let me explain the two strokes I was talking about okay.
Volley: You've most likely heard of VolleyBall well in VolleyBall you want the ball to stay in the air the same thing with the Volley you hit the ball without swinging when it is in the air.
Groundstroke: Self explanitory.

I like a lot of old scary or silly movies like my personal fav: Murder by Death I love the dumb twists and jokes you just cannot get. I love the way that Mr. Twain hates way wang not use pronouns. It is hilarous!!! And I am really not sure if that scorpion was real or not. I need a minute I am still watching it so I need I few moments to laugh. HA HA HA better but somehow I just can't stop laughing when I watch this movie. HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Enphisis on The !!!!!!!!!!!!) Well bye. HA HA HA!!!!

I'm sorta bored. Hmm... I have nothing to say. Well oh poo. Hey that word(poo) gave me an Idea! Oh Man Oh Boywhy not Oh Women and Oh Girl ? We were getting my tennis racket today and Eve and Noah freaked out and wanted a Dora and SpongeBob racket, now Eve is signed up for tennis camp with me but I seriously doubt she cares. I bet she just wants to use the Dora racket and pink tennis balls . *cough Waste of money *cough Ahh much better.

I have more "shelfari books than shown on my shelf. Check them out. Again about the T.V. Review comments. Why doesn't Cailoo have hair? Why don't characters ever change clothes? Why don't they age? Where were they born neverland or something? And those unnesscessary pauses like: What color is this Baloon? Pink yes. I mean come on! And what is with the dumb songs? And the wiggles and Barney they say fith graders like them. It is like there saying to the little kids: "The older kids like us if you don't your dumb!" It's just downright MEAN. I hate those dumb kid shows.

I have decided to do a book review site because I have so many books I ADORE! *Cough Mostly by Shannon Hale cough * Ahh thats much better now. I hate very few books that I hate. I rarley come across a book that makes me almost spew but I always findssomething I like about the book. If I did a tv show review I would Give Dora the Explorer a big fat -5 stars and that is speech by heart. By the way SHANNON HALE ROCKS!!!!!!!!! I give her 100 million Gizzilion Stars. I normally like scary storys but I don't like many of R.L. Stines books.
